Thank you
Thank you to Hegarty Demolition, WA Construction, Anthony Quinn, Micheál Scollan, North West Tool Hire, Mulvey’s Hardware, Gala Drumshanbo, Gertie’s, the Lynches, and Talk n Tech for sponsoring last weekend's fundraiser, and to all who purchased squares.

A windfall
Congratulations to Noel Gill, our safest pair of hands, on his windfall of 1,000 euro! Noel was the winner of our All-Ireland squares draw based on the final points score of Dublin 2-14 (20) Mayo 0-15.

Best wishes
We'd like to wish former club chairman Edmund Doyle a speedy recovery to full health and an enjoyable Christmas with his family.

Congratulations!
Congratulations to ace forward Dara McKiernan and his new wife Helene -- our newlyweds! Dara and Helene were wed last Friday. All the best from all of us.

Happy Christmas
Finally, we'd like to take this opportunity to wish all involved with our club in any way, past and present, a Happy Christmas. May your days be peaceful, safe, merry, and bright, and here's to a more enjoyable 2021!

All-Ireland Final squares draw
Our fundraising draw takes place this weekend based on the All-Ireland Football final. Squares are available for 30 euro each for a chance of winning 1,000 euro! Please see our website and social pages for more details or contact Eoin Meehan or Dermot McKeon directly. Remember, if you're not in, you can't win. http://www.kiltubrid.gaa.ie/testbed/all-ireland-squares
AGM
We held our first-ever virtual AGM on Thursday last. The main topic for discussion was the ongoing works at Pairc Cill Tiobráid while we celebrated our underage Scór dance group retaining their county title early this year. Neil Slevin was appointed as PRO with a new Treasurer and finance committee to follow in the near future.
Award winners
Well done to Michael McCormack and Mickey Earley, winners of our Senior and Junior Player of the Year awards respectively. In an unusual season, Michael was inspirational from midfield in his role as co-captain while Mickey represented both adult men's sides with distinction -- and is the first player to win both awards in over 20 years.
Hard luck, Leitrim
Hard luck to the Leitrim minors following their battling display against Galway in the Connacht Quarter-Final last Saturday. Pride of place of course goes to Dylan Easterbrook, Con Doyle, and Danny McWeeney. Dylan shored up the Leitrim defence midway through the first-half while Con added vitality to a tiring forward-line later on. Keep up the great work, lads.
Congratulations!
Congratulations to club stalwart Eamon Geoghegan and his wife Nicola on the birth of their baby girl, Fiadh. Best wishes to you from all involved with Kiltubrid GFC. We hope to see Fiadh speeding up and down the wing like her dad in the not too distant future!

Daddy Paddy in da house:
Massive congratulations to Paddy mc Keon and his wife Michelle, on the birth of their newly born daughter, Rachel. If she gets Paddy's height and rugby skills, we have a future international lock in our presence!

No Dogs Allowed:
At a recent Kiltubrid GAA club meeting, it has been decided on Health & Safety grounds that all dogs (except guide dogs) are banned from Kiltubrid GAA club grounds. Dog fouling is a health hazard to the many children and adults who use our club facilities and unfortunately this has become an unwanted problem over the last few months.

Underage training:
Under 7, 9 and 11 training has finished up for the year. Big thank you to all the players, parents and especially the coaches for their dedication during the year. And a massive thank you to Karol Scollan and Scollan’s Gala Drumshanbo, for once again providing end of year refreshments. All was very much appreciated.

MacDiarmada Gaels:
Hard luck to the under 15 team who lost out to Carrick in a very entertaining, high scoring final in Pairc Sean on Saturday morning last. The talent and physicality on display for an under 15 team was clearly evident and can only mean good things for the future of Leitrim football. They lost out 3-09 to 6-15 on the day. It's fair to say that the scoreline does not reflect the difference between these two teams, with MacDiarmada Gaels having beaten Carrick earlier in the season. But credit must go to Carrick who were simply better on the day. Under the guidance of Shane Foley, Joe Honeyman, Barry mc Kiernan and Eamonn Farrell, the lads definitely didn't lack any talent and leadership qualities within their management team. I asked Shane what the secret to the noticeable large size of this particular team. He informed me that he's been feeding Jack bull nuts since 1st year and advised other parents to do the same!!  Kiltubrid GAA would like to thank Martin Jordan of the Village shop for his kind sponsorship of the meal for the young lads after the match in Gerties, which was enjoyed thoroughly by all. We appreciate your kind gesture very much Martin. If you're looking for some tasty furniture, tools , etc, pop into Martin. You might not know you wanted it until you go!

New Arrival:
Congratulations to former club player Micheal mc girl and his wife Laura who recently welcomed baby Jack Micheal into the world. If he's going to be anything like his grandad, we have another smooth mover on the dance floor on our hands!

MacDiarmada Gaels:
Best of luck to the under 15 team who take on Leitrim Gaels this Friday evening at 6pm in Ballinamore in the Division 1 Championship semi final.

Junior:
Our Junior team face Ballinamore this Sunday at 11:30am in Ballinamore in the relegation semi final play off. This is a good opportunity for lads to get some game time this year and a bit of enjoyment.

25 years later:
This Week, 25 Years ago was a major milestone in Kiltubrid GAA when we won the Leitrim Junior Championship which saw the start of a very successful period for adult football in Kiltubrid. I remember being at the game at the age of 11. There was a tremendous mix of youth and experience, which transformed into an intermediate championship in 2002, and then the big one in 2005. #Kiltubrid ABU  We hope to mark the 25 Year Anniversary but are limited at the moment due to Covid19. Stay tuned to our social media for more details.

Job Done:
Finally, our Intermediate team got a result that their training and effort all year has deserved. Huge thank you to Ciaran and Joe, along with our own Enda mc Keon, who bring a freshness and energy to each and every training session. I have no doubt that these boys will win many county titles in the future.  Also, a big thank you to Barry mc Kiernan who provided very insightful and entertaining commentary throughout the game on Facebook, ably assisted by Pat mc Weeney. As no supporters were allowed at the game, the lads provided a very valuable service which many people around the globe enjoyed. The new Marty and Bernard!

MacDiarmada Gaels:
The under 13 team are in action Friday Eve evening at 7pm in Ballinamore, assist Annaduff in round 5 of the Division 1 Championship.
Mohill host the under 15 team on Monday evening, Sept 7th at 6:30pm with the reserves playing straight after it.

Intermediates bow out:
Hard luck to our intermediate team who bowed out of the championship last Saturday evening after a defeat to Carrigallen. We were arguably on top in the first half, but Carrigallen showed true grit and pulled away in the second half. Next up we have a relegation playoff against Eslin which is in two weeks time. Date and venue to be confirmed.

MacDiarmada Gaels:
Well done to the under 15 team who beat Annaduff comprehensively last Friday night. However, hard luck to our under 17 team, who were well between by St Mary's on Monday evening. The under 17 team play Allen Gaels next Monday evening in Ballinamore at 7pm.
The under 13 team play Glencar/ Manor this Friday evening in Manorhamilton at 6:30pm.

Congratulations:
Huge congratulations to club stalward Sheila Guckian on the recent birth of her daughter, Doireann and also to Gerry Gilmartin and Martina Charles on the recent birth of their daughter, Jasmine. Two future stars for Kiltubrid!

Wedding Bells:
Huge congratulations to club player David mc Cormack on his recent engagement to Brid Leonard from Sligo. We wish you both best wishes for the future.

Condolences:
Kiltubrid GAA offers our deepest sympathy to our senior player Stephen McLoughlin and his family on the passing of his Uncle Dominic Quinn, a brother of Veronica in Sligo. RIP

Intermediate team:
Hard luck to our intermediate team who lost to a strong Gortlettragh outfit on Saturday evening last in Ballinamore. A late Micheal Earley goal proved too late to inspire the comeback needed. The final score was 0-16 Gortlettragh- Kiltubrid 1-07.

Reminder:
All teams are back in action at this stage. It is imperative that any outstanding membership be paid. This can be done online by logging onto the Kiltubrid GAA website or contacting Dermot mc Keon on 0879269579

Fixtures:
Our Junior B team kick off their championship this Sunday in Fenagh against Meivin Gaels at 1:30pm. MacDiarmada Gaels take on Mohill in the under 17 championship on Monday next in Mohill at 7pm.

Another heartbreaking defeat for Intermediates:
Hard luck to our intermediate team, who despite being seven points down going into the last quarter, showed great determination and spirit to get it back to within a point. Unfortunately, time ran out and once again, we lost by the narrowest of margins. Lady luck wasn't on our side as the cross bar and post denied us. Fair play to Dromahair who helped make it a very exciting match for the fans to be at, even if the result didn't go our way. The beauty of the years championship is that a single win can potentially send a team through. You can be sure that the lads will dust themselves down, regroup and come out all guns blazing the next day. A match report is available in the sports section.
Next up is Gortlettragh, next Saturday in Ballinamore at 5pm.

Ladies round up:
Hard luck to the senior ladies team, who were defeated by St Joseph's last Sunday in Ballinamore. Next up is Glencar/Manor away, next Sunday at 11am.

MacDiarmada Gaels:
The under 13 team lost to a more dominant Carrick on Friday last, July 24th. The lads defeated St Brigid's on Monday last, July 20th by 4-06 to 1-11. Last Monday 20th, the under 17 team were pipped by Mohill in Ballinamore, 0-11 to 2-07. On Monday just passed , July 27th, Carrick inflicted a heavier defeat on the lads of 3-10 to 1-05. They play Allen Gaels next Monday evening, August 3rd, in Drumshanbo at 7pm. This Friday, the under 15 team are away to Leitrim Gaels at 7pm, with the reserve team straight after them at 8:15pm.

Social distancing:
When attending any football matches, please remember to try and social distance as best you can, while also being aware of kids. The virus hasn't gone away and it only takes potential one outbreak for us to be back to no football again.
